Happy last day of winter to you! I hope that a new, but already crypto-winter will not catch up with us in the near future. But even if that happens, we'll still keep building and trying to be better no matter what the situation. So let’s begin!

Analyze what you create
1. People love stories
Everyone likes interesting stories, and everyone has their own preferences for the format in which they want to receive them:
Books
Films
Series
YouTube
Comics and many more options
Each of the above options will always tell a story. And even if it's a video with dry facts, a good content creator will write a script for it so that those facts are presented as a story. After all, it will be much more interesting for viewers to gain knowledge this way.
Even right now, as I'm writing this Newsletter for you, I'm telling you a story based on my 7 years of experience with YouTube content.
A good story always leaves emotions that author would like to convey so that at the end, reader/viewer can draw their own conclusions based on the information received.
2. Storytelling engages people in content
If you're reading this now, it means I was able to engage you at least 50% in my content! And the main task of those who tell the story is to try to make sure that readers/viewers get 100% of the information from the source and are satisfied with the request of what they would like to get from it.
And this tactic works especially well for video formats on YouTube & TikTok. The longer you can create video content and engage the viewer as much as possible, the more the algorithms will recommend this video to the masses for a new audience.
On Twitter, the algorithms for video are still not perfect and Elon Musk & his team are working hard (I hope) to improve the recommendation system for video content so that it doesn't depend on the number of followers so that it can promote.
Here's an example of the retention analytics for my animated video on different platforms:
Twitter (3,364 views):
YouTube Shorts (1,7k+ views):
YouTube (60 views):
TikTok (1k views):
As you can see, viewer retention drops when they get a random video in their feed that they weren't prepared for, and I have to analyze that to improve my next videos. But on a regular YouTube video, the retention rate is 99,8%, and that's partly due to the small number of views. And I realized one very important thing here: It was my target audience that wanted to see this and intentionally clicked on this video.
That's why I recommend using the regular YouTube format more than Shorts/Reels/TikTok! That way you'll gather a much more loyal audience to you and your content.
3. Analize what you create
Data analytics is one of the best skills in the digital world to get to the top of success. And it doesn't matter what the niche is here.
It's impossible to create the perfect video the first time, so that everyone will like it at once. You'll have many attempts before you make your content, but you have to analyze absolutely everything you create!
That way you'll learn to understand why there's a slump at a certain point, or what influenced it to start commenting/liking/sharing.
This applies not only to video, but also to text formats such as Twitter, Substack, and so on.
If you learn how to analyze your storytelling pitch and understand what works and what doesn't, you'll see how your quality bar will rise.
